Two men have been arrested in connection to the death of 70-year-old Fernando Silva. Warwick police arrested Troy Gunderway and Richard Baribault and charged them with 1st degree murder in connection with Silva’s death.
Warwick police say they were tipped off after the Warwick Harbor Master noticed a strong smell from a boat that on a mooring.
Police found the body of Silva after searching the boat. Police believe Silva had been there for two weeks.
“He (the harbor master) could smell an odor coming from the boat,” said Captain Christopher Stewart.
Silva was known around Warwick as ‘Captain Freddy’. Police said Silva was know to play Keno and won “hundreds” of dollars and had told some people.
Both men were ordered held without bail.
