For the second time in nearly three months, Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebrien is calling on Governor Gina Raimondo to release the results of a feasibility performed by the state on McCoy Stadium.
- READ the letter: Mayor Grebien Calls for Feasibility Study
In an open letter, Grebien points to a provision of the state’s leasing agreement with Pawtucket Red Sox ownership that a full feasibility study was conducted from 2013 through 2014 on all components of the stadium.
In May, Grebien asked for the results of the study to be made public, so taxpayers could have a full grasp of the issues surrounding the PawSox ownership wishing to move to Providence.
“We must have all the facts in front of us in order to make the best decision on behalf of Rhode Island taxpayers,” wrote Grebien “This matter is too important to Rhode Island and Pawtucket, [sic] to move forward in any other manner.”
Current PawSox ownership has already indicated they believe the team has no future in Pawtucket.
