Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza says City Hall has a new, innovative way to help residents with city services.
Elorza said the Mayor’s Center for City Services will take a customer service approach to improve response times to complaints and address problems faster.
“When someone calls in they don’t so much care that this person or that person took their complaint, they just want to see that it gets done,” said Elorza.
The mayor said when his administration took office hundreds of complaints were left unfiled and unaddressed.
“It’s our job to make sure we work through our administrative processes and that we work through our computer systems to make sure it gets done.”
The new center will use technology and an increased emphasis on inter-departmental communication to ensure projects are completed quickly.
