EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (AP) — Police have arrested an East Greenwich man they allege stabbed his neighbor after a dispute over a loud television.
The 60-year-old suspect — whose name has not been released — was arraigned Tuesday in Kent County District Court.
Police told WPRI-TV that the 54-year-old victim went to the suspect’s house early Tuesday morning and asked him to turn down his television.
Police say the suspect went to the victim’s home a short time later armed with a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the chest and the abdomen when he answered the door.
Police say the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is undergoing surgery.
The victim’s condition is unknown.
