EXETER, R.I. (AP) – A 20-year-old West Warwick man has been charged with arson after a weekend fire that destroyed a house in Exeter.
State police say the fire began when Nicholas Dandrea lit some leaves on fire and the flames spread to the house.
Police arrested Dandrea after interviewing him and talking to several witnesses at the scene of the fire on Victory Highway, which was reported at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday.
Dandrea is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions and was scheduled to appear in District Court on Monday.
