A Jamestown man is in the custody of police after he was stopped by the Coast Guard for operating his powerboat while intoxicated.
The Coast Guard were deployed from Castle Hill in Newport around 1:00AM Thursday, after they received word from Jamestown Police that a man was seen erratically driving his boat out of the harbor and had struck other vessels.
David Howe, 46, was apprehended and failed a field sobriety test.
Howe was transferred to the custody of Jamestown Police and was issued a citation.
