Governor Gina Raimondo’s proposed 2016 budget is on the move and will be posted for consideration to the House Finance Committee sometime next week, according to House Speaker’s office.
In a statement, Speaker Nicholas Mattiello said the timeframe will give lawmakers a chance to review several recent adjustments to the budget.
“[This] will give us time to review the testimony provided at Finance hearings this week on the new transportation article and the pension agreement, as well to discuss budget issues In a Democratic Caucus and continue to work with the Senate and the Governor.”
A hearing on the new transportation bill will be held on Tuesday and the pension hearing Wednesday; house Democrats will then caucus on Thursday.
