A Pawtucket man was charged with producing child pornography Friday after a State Police investigation found he had filmed an act of child molestation.
Robert Barrie, 37, was arrested May 7 after police executed a warrant for the transfer and possession of child pornography. A further investigation revealed Barrie stored digital footage of himself engaged in a sexual act with a juvenile. Officers were able to identify the child from a previous investigation.
Detectives were able to determine the sexual acts had been recorded without the juvenile knowing.
Barrie was charged with Second Degree Child Molestation, Production of Child Pornography and Video Voyeurism and held on $50,000 bail.
If Barrie is found guilty, he faces a maximum penalty of 39 years in prison and a fine of $10,000.
