The iconic Blue Angels are returning to Rhode Island this weekend to showcase their classic act at the 2015 Rhode Island Air Show in Quonset.
Blue Angels Executive Officer, Commander Bob Flynn told the WPRO Monring News with Gene Valicenti Rhode Island is a special place to his whole crew.
“We love Rhode Island, the team is excited and all the air show performers are glad to be here,” said Flynn.
Flynn said attendees of the Air Show will see the type of performance they have come to expect from the Blue Angels every year.
“We have a pretty traditional show that we’ve been doing for years but they do try and do new wrinkles to the maneuvers; but you do generally see a Blue Angels show you would recognize year after year.”
Beyond the high flying stunts performed by the fighter jet pilots, fans can also expect to see a demonstration of the Angels’ massive C130 transport plane nick named Fat Albert.
“You’ll see some really interesting and neat maneuvers from Fat Albert,” Flynn said.
The Canadian Snowbirds are also slated to perform at the Air Show.
