Lawyers in the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez are set to deliver closing arguments to the jury after a trial that has lasted more than two months and featured 135 witnesses and hundreds of pieces of evidence.
Hernandez is accused in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee. He was found dead in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez’s home.
Both sides have 90 minutes Tuesday to tell jurors how they see the case.
Hernandez’s lawyer will go first, followed by the prosecution.
Once closing arguments are completed, the judge will instruct the jury on the law before sending them to deliberate. That is expected to happen Tuesday afternoon.
