Actor Daniel von Bargen, a Trinity Rep and Seinfeld cast member, has died at the age of 64.
WLWT in Cincinnati reports von Bargen died over the weekend after a long illness.
Born in Ohio, von Bargen joined the Trinity Repertory Company after graduating Purdue University with a degree in drama; the actor is listed as an endowment member on the theater company’s website.
von Bergen was best known for his role as George Costanza’s boss in the ninth season of Seinfeld. In addition to a reoccurring role on Malcom in the Middle, von Bergen could often be seen playing a stern military or police-type character in movies ranging from Broken Arrow, Postman, and Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
The actor made headline sin 2012 when he seriously injured himself in an apparent suicide attempt.
No other details of his death are known at this time.
