PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Sixteen people have been arrested for allegedly taking part in a stolen goods fencing operation in Cranston.
Cranston police and Rhode Island State Police say they arrested 16 people, including two juveniles, for helping to exchange more than $23,000 of stolen goods at a local pawn shop, Cranston Gold and More.
Cranston police Sgt. Michael Pezzullo told WJAR-TV that the items were taken from buildings, a school and cars.
The pawn shop owner was among those arrested and denies the allegations.
Most of the stolen items were electronics and jewelry. Computers were stolen from Cranston High School East. Police returned the computers.
Police have posted photos of other recovered items online in the hopes of finding the owners.
