A state representative has submitted legislation to make it illegal to fly drones near airports.
Representative Raymond Gallison (D-Bristol) says due to the recent popularity of air drones, they should be kept a safe distance away from airports so no accidents occur.
“Before something happens I want to be proactive rather than reactive,” said Gallison.
The legislation would require drones stay five miles away from T.F. Green and Quonsett State Airport, and two miles away from any other air field in Rhode Island.
