PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – More than a foot of snow has been reported in several Rhode Island communities, and forecasters are warning some to be prepared for another foot as snow and high winds keep coming.
The National Weather Service says that as of Tuesday morning, it has received reports of 16.6 inches in Glocester, 16 inches in Burrillville, 13 inches in Smithfield and 12 inches in Cranston.
Providence was reported to have 10 inches as of 6 a.m. Snow is expected to accumulate to 15 to 25 inches, a lower range than had earlier been forecast.
All of Rhode Island remains under a blizzard warning until 1 a.m. Wednesday. The worst of the storm is expected to last through Tuesday afternoon.
Fewer than 1,000 National Grid customers were without power Tuesday morning.
