Newly minted Mayor of Providence Jorge Elorza says one of the primary themes of his inauguration will be taking pride in the Capital City.
At an inter-faith prayer breakfast in Providence, Elorza laid the three themes he will address during his public inauguration ceremony Monday afternoon; creating a city that works, building on strengths, and taking pride in the city.
“We’ve been doing our due diligence up until this point,” said Elorza, “We have our team in place, we have a lot of great ideas, we’re going to do some great work, but it all starts with building the foundation.”
Elorza was sworn in as the 38th Mayor of Providence early Monday morning at a private ceremony at his home. A public ceremony will be held at 2:00p.m. on the steps of City Hall, followed by a public celebration at the Cranston Street Armory at 7:00p.m.
