Fire fighters spent over an hour trying battle a blaze which broke out at a house on Potters Road in North Kingstown Tuesday morning.
Crews from North Kingstown, East Greenwich and Warwick were on scene trying to contain the fire. North Kingstown Fire Chief Fenwick Gardiner said the call went out around 9:30a.m. and appeared to have originated at the front-left corner of the house.
Fire fighters continued to remain on scene after extinguishing the fire to manage hot spots.
A mother and daughter were in the house at the time with a pet and all three were able to escape.
A fire investigation is underway to determine what caused the blaze.
