Black Friday is in full swing in Rhode Island as shoppers flock to stores to cash in on the latest deals.
Kyle Marquee was out before midnight to try and get a deal on a TV, but found that fellow shoppers were already out in force.
“I was trying to get first in line but that didn’t work out too well,” laughed Marquee.
Meanwhile in Warwick, Black Friday was described as chaotic by some shoppers as the doors first opened to the retail stores.
“Hectic, this place at first was literally a stream of people,” said one shopper, “The gates opened up and immediately people were running; one dude tripped over his feet, people were spilling coffee, janitors were cleaning up messes all over the place.”
Other shoppers described the scene as much more peaceful and efficient. One Warwick Black Friday participant said he had been in line since 3:00a.m. to buy his family a new TV.
“I came at a good time so I got right in, I didn’t come in with the early birds.”
