PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (AP) – An 83-year-old man has been identified as the person found dead inside his home on Rhode Island’s Prudence Island during a fire.
Portsmouth police said Monday that Norman Medeiros was found dead when fire crews were battling a fire at his house Thursday night. The cause of death is under investigation, as is the cause of the fire.
The island’s volunteer fire department responded to the blaze and found the single-family residence fully engulfed in flames.
