Rhode Island State Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting and stabbing in Colt State Park over Memorial Day weekend.
According to police, Jordan Lyttle of Fall River allegedly stabbed Lang Lek of New Hampshire in the chest with a knife during an altercation in the park. Lek retaliated by shooting Lyttle twice with a handgun. Police captured both men and transported them to the hospital.
Captain Kevin O’Brien of the Rhode Island State Police said the incident was gang related.
“It appears to be gang related, it definitely appears to be an isolated incident. Both of these individuals were not from the area, they were from out of state,” said O’Brien, “They happened to congregate in the park with several members of their gang.”
Lyttle was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and possession of a controlled substance. Lek had already been arraigned.
