New studies show that there are benefits to not immediately cutting the umbilical cord after a baby’s birth. It gives more time to allow blood flow from the placenta, significantly improving iron and hemoglobin levels in newborns. This is great news for the kids who don’t cut the umbilical cord until well after college.
