Table games were set to launch on July 1, but Twin River announced Thursday that the newest additions to the Lincoln casino would be open to the general public on June 19, a full 12 days earlier.
“We’re thrilled to open table games sooner than expected and it is a true reflection of the incredible level of cooperation we have received from our regulators, town officials, unions, Twin River staff and our construction team from Gilbane Building Company,” said Twin River board chairman John Taylor, Jr. in a statement.
The addition of the table games was approved in a ballot referendum in the fall, and is expected to bring an additional 500 jobs to the state.
To prepare for the grand opening, Twin River will hold invitation-only games between June 14 and 19 to help train new employees.
The opening of the games will be marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a brief Blackjack tournament among invited dignitaries who will play for a charity of their choice. Twin River will donate $20,000 to six charities chosen by the winning players.
The games will be open to the general public immediately following the June 19th ribbon cutting ceremonies.
The table games were moved into the casino, which formerly only housed video gaming machines, earlier this month.
