Katherine Russell was a “normal” high school student according to those who knew her during her time at North Kingstown High School.
Here is her senior passage from the 2007 NKHS “Skippers Log,” the school’s year book:
Future Plans: College, Peace Corps
Favorite Food: Pad Thai
Activities at NKHS: Dance Team (9), Art Club (10,11,12)
What you’ll miss about NKHS: The wonderful heating system, and the few teachers I had here who were absolutely amazing.
Quote: “Do something about it or stop complaining.”
Senior Message: Contrary to popular belief, high school is not the real world, so just lighten up and enjoy the small things, like seeing your close friends every day and just having as much fun with them as you can. Don’t take anything for granted. Twenty years from now you won’t remember your algebra homework, but you will remember that great night you had with your best friend.
Yes Sir!- You’re my other sister….and I love you my little P.Face Mcgee.
“Don’t believe in yourself, don’t deceive with belief. Knowledge comes from death’s release.” DB
Russell’s senior portrait:
Amos Paine was her high school art teacher.
“She was very friendly, very intelligent and very talented,” Paine told Gene Valicenti on the WPRO Morning News Wednesday. He said he didn’t notice any “red flags” during her time in his class.
Here, Russell poses with Paine and other members of her art class:
