Governor Lincoln Chafee will be giving his annual State of the State address and announcing his state budget proposal on Wednesday night.
Governor Chafee told reporters that there are signs of improvements in the state’s economy.
“We’re trending in the right direction. Certainly not as well as we all want, but we’re going in the right direction,” says Chafee.
He will be laying out the priorities for the year as well as releasing his budget proposal for the fiscal year. This will be the Governor’s first State of the State address where he will be using a teleprompter for his speech.
“Mayor Tavares was kind enough to lend us his and so, we’ve got to catch up I guess,” Chafee said while laughing.
