A New Bedford man transporting middle school students was attacked by another driver.
Channel 12 reports that the road rage attack happened at the intersection of Hemlock and Dunbar Streets around 3:00 on Wednesday. The 40-year-old victim is a driver of a school transport van and was carrying several Roosevelt Middle School students at the time of the incident.
Police say a 19-year-old man stabbed the van driver, whose name has not been release. He suffered wounds to the back of his neck and nose and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Rhode Island hospital.
According to Channel 12, the suspect is known to police and has a lengthy criminal history. Police say they do not believe the driver was specifically targeted.
