A video of Compassion Party candidate for Attorney General Alan Gordon “shout spelling” the n-word has gone national after being picked up by TMZ.
TMZ reports Gordon and fellow AG candidate Peter Neronha were answering student questions at North Kingstown High School on Tuesday night when Gordon got upset over Neronha’s use of the word “marijuana.” Gordon claimed the word “marijuana” is racist, then compared it to the n-word, which he loudly spelled out before storming off the stage as students laughed and applauded.
Fellow Compassion Party member Anne Armstrong, who’s running for governor, told TMZ that the word “marijuana” is “rooted in racial stereotypes” and is offensive to them.
“So much for the plant’s calming effects,” TMZ quipped.
