Roger Williams University is inviting the public to an event commemorating their 10th President, Donald J. Farish, who passed unexpectedly in July.
The event, “Celebrate President Farish: His Life and Legacy,” will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12 at the RWU Recreation Center on the Bristol campus. A reception will follow at 4:30 p.m.
RWU describes the event as a “multimedia celebration” that includes poetry, dance, and readings from students and community members.
“During his seven years at RWU, President Farish provided a vision for a modern university, aiming to ‘Build the University the World Needs Now’ and strongly positioning the institution for its next phase of growth,” RWU Interim President Andy Workman said. “I cannot imagine a leader with a more authentic drive for excellence, for relevance, for impact and for access in higher education. Please join us to honor his indelible legacy: a genuine love for students and a steadfast belief in the power of higher education to transform lives.”
