Pawtucket’s mayor is making another plea to keep the PawSox in his city, this time to lawmakers on Smith Hill. Don Grebian told WPRO’s Tara Granahan the city has two potential developers waiting in the wings, as the city retools it’s pitch for reasons to support $38 million in public funding for a $83-million stadium.
While critics says it’s the same plan with a different spin, Mayor Grebian was optimistic that if he gets support from state lawmakers, Pawtucket has a good chance to keep the team in his city. Grebian also walked through details of a report that he says explains why the Pawsox should forgo fixing up the current McCoy Stadium.
