Providence Journal Executive Editor Alan Rosenberg joined WPRO’s Dan Yorke in studio during the 4pm hour on Wednesday for the first time in his new position. Rosenberg has been with The Providence Journal for over 35 years and assumed the Executive Editor role in May 2017.
Rosenberg’s accessibility to radio and TV outlets signals a shift in the previously inwardly focused staff. He made it clear that he works to respond to as much reader correspondence as possible.
The Executive Editor fielded calls from listeners about the Editorial Board, reporter assignments, and handling of reader feedback.
Dan also questioned the editor’s choice to address fake news claims head on and the challenges of covering the Trump presidency. Rosenberg also discussed the paper’s relationship with the Crimetown podcast and providing information versus entertainment.
