47- year Community College of Rhode Island English Professor Roberta Mudge Humble told WPRO’s Dan Yorke that she recently received the attached letter from college administration.
The letter offers a “retirement incentive to faculty and non- classified staff” who are currently participating in the college’s retirement program.
It goes on to explain the program aims to “provide the college the flexibilty to rehire at competitive salaries and in a manner that effectively supports strategic iniatives.”
Professor Humble told Dan that she was offended by the language in the letter and is concerned about both the motivation and results of the program.
Humble also proposed the connection between the savings plan and Governor Raimondo’s proposed “free tuition” plan.
