Rhode Island Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello expressed hope that an end to the Rhode Island Democratic Party’s boycott of WPRO’s talk shows could happen during a conversation with WPRO’s Dan Yorke after his news conference in Cranston on Tuesday morning.
“A boycott was put into place,” Mattiello told Yorke. “I respect the purpose of that boycott. It has not been adequately addressed yet. I’m hoping it will be. But as of now it has not been adequately addressed by both sides.”
“I’m not one of the parties to this dispute,” Mattiello continued. “I’ve gotten an analysis of the dispute between two other parties, one is your station and the other is the women who were offended. I would hope that everyone would get together and find a solution, I would welcome a solution, I think the situation begs for a solution.”
