RI GOP Chairman Brandon Bell appeared on WPRO’s Dan Yorke Show Thursday and clarified comments he made Wednesday on The Tara Granahan Show. Bell told Granahan on Wednesday that he someday would like to see a female president, but that Clinton wasn’t the right person. “I want to see a female president, too. The right female.”
“Hillary is subhuman,” Bell laughed. “I’m not really sure she’d be a good example. She’s so dishonest. When she moves her lips, she’s basically lying.”
On Thursday, Bell told Yorke that “I’m not going to walk it back. I made a mistake in saying that word (sub-human). I don’t even know where that word came from. It’s not even in my vocabulary. I think the word was supposed to be ‘sub-par’ – she’s sub-par in her ability to tell the truth is probably what I was wanting to say.”
