PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A 20-year-old Providence man who police say belongs to a local gang has been sentenced to prison for gun and drug offenses.
Authorities say Miguel Wynns is a member of the Throwback for Days street gang.
Wynns was sentenced Friday in Providence Superior Court to 10 years in prison with 4 1/2 years to serve.
He pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm without a license and drug offenses.
Wynns was arrested in August 2014 after police say he was acting suspiciously in a car parked at Pasha Hookah Bar. Police say he had a pistol.
Wynns was arrested while out on bail in March 2015 after police say he delivered an opioid medication to a woman.
A search warrant at Wynns’s residence turned up heroin, ammunition and cash.
