Cranston Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Bank RI branch located at 1047 Park Avenue in Cranston.
According to bank employees the suspect entered the bank and handed a note to a bank teller indicating she would be shot if she did not empty the cash register. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’7 to 6’0, wearing a black hooded jacket, white scarf partially covering his face, jeans, white sneakers with black laces, a grey and red knit hat, and gloves.
After receiving approximately one thousand dollars, the suspect fled on foot towards the rear of the bank. No bank employees or customers were injured during the robbery.
Cranston police say that the subject should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone recognizes the suspect or has information regarding this crime, they are urged to contact the Cranston Police Detective Division at (401) 942-2211.
