PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island have dropped to an average of $2.05 per gallon.
AAA Northeast said Monday that prices are a penny lower than last week and 57 cents lower than this time last year.
The national average is $1.99, which is the first time it has dropped below $2 since March 2009. More than two thirds of gas stations in the United States are selling gas this week under $2 per gallon.
