PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island have dropped to their lowest level in more than six years.
AAA Northeast says this week’s average price for regular unleaded is $2.06 per gallon, five cents lower than last week and the lowest since spring 2009.
Rhode Island’s average price one year ago was $2.89.
The AAA says strong supply and dropping crude oil prices have contributed to the decline in prices.
The state’s current rate is five cents higher than the national average of $2.01.
