PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gov. Gina Raimondo says the state is offering three new incentive programs to help businesses as part of her strategy to jumpstart Rhode Island’s economy.
The Democratic governor announced Wednesday that applications are available online.
Through an innovation voucher program, Rhode Island companies with fewer than 500 employees can receive up to $50,000 to pay for research and development assistance from a local university, research center or medical center.
Grants are available for companies in the same sector to work together to solve problems, share ideas and develop talent. There are grants for planning and for implementing programs.
Small businesses in designated key industries can receive grants for technical assistance, space and capital.
Raimondo says Rhode Island is joining a select group of pioneering states offering creative options to businesses.
