The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency is calling on the public to immediately prepare for Hurricane Joaquin before it makes arrives on the East Coast next week.
In posts on social media, the agency linked to tips on hurricane preparedness and said to take steps sooner rather than later.
The track of Joaquin has slowed since the storm was first upgraded to hurricane status. The National Hurricane Center reports the cone will hit the East Coast early Tuesday morning.
