Two people died, including a small child and an adult male in a Warwick home Thursday morning in what police characterized as a domestic disturbance and an “horrific crime”.

In a statement, Warwick Police Chief Bradford Connor said that officers responding to a home on Frawley Street found a child who had been shot and the alleged assailant, an adult male who was also deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Nearby schools were ordered to ‘shelter-in-place’ as a precaution for just over an hour.

The statement by Chief Connor went on to say, “members of the Warwick Police Department send our deepest condolences to the family members and those affected by this senseless and unimaginable act. As a community we are saddened by the events that occurred today. No further information will be provided at this time.”
