The Providence Performing Arts Center kicks off its 2022-2023 season in September with “Tina – The Tina Turner Musical”.

This will be the theater’s 45th Broadway season, and it includes “Mean Girls”, “Tootsie”, “Jagged Little Pill”, “Hadestown”, “Six” and “Beettlejuice”.

“Tina – The Tina Turner Musical” which runs from September 11-18, 2022, launches its national tour at the Providence theater, the 21st show since 2008 to begin a national tour here.

“I think “Tina” will just take the market by storm,” said Lynn Singleton, PPAC President and CEO. “It’ll do very, very well. Great cast, good story, people are very familiar with it.”

Singleton said that despite the covid – enforced closing during 2020 into 2021, most subscribers stayed with PPAC, showing that they were anxious to get back into the theater.

Other shows include “Les Misérables”, “Annie”, and “Come From Away” which had been delayed due to the pandemic, along with “The Simon and Garfunkel Story”.
