Governor Dan McKee’s office says he will be traveling out of state and spending Thanksgiving with his family, from November 17 through Sunday, November 28, his longest absence since taking office in March.
The brief statement did not disclose details of his travel plans.
A spokeswoman said McKee is not leaving the country and is, “just heading out of town”.
McKee made no mention of his absence during his weekly COVID briefing on Tuesday, nor any plans to turn over any responsibilities to Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos, who sat alongside McKee during the briefing.
A spokesman for the Lt. Governor said she will remain in the state during the Governor’s absence.
The Governor’s spokeswoman did not know if he had any plans for political events during his 11 days away from the state.
McKee on Monday traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the White House signing of President Joe Biden’s $1.75 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill.
