COVID cluster prompts high school to go remote

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island high school has moved to remote learning in response to an increased number of COVID-19 cases. Pilgrim

High in Warwick went remote Monday after the state Department of Health alerted school officials about the cluster of new cases.

Top district administrators in an email to parents Sunday called it a serious situation and recommended limiting contact with others and monitoring for symptoms.

The state will set up a testing site the school as early as Tuesday, and all students were encouraged to be tested even if vaccinated.

It was not clear when the school would return to in-person learning.
