(WPRO) In a video exclusively obtained by WPRO’s Tara Granahan, a teacher at Cranston West High School in Rhode Island was caught swearing on an open microphone during a virtual pre-calculus math class. In a moment of exasperation, the teacher stops writing equations on a white board, exclaims “photomat it, do something!” before apparently intending to mute her microphone and walking out of frame and then saying “These f–king kids. I have to teach them Algebra I and they’re in Pre-Calculus. They can’t f–king do the Algebra I.”

Listen to the audio above.

When reached for comment, the Superintendent of Schools in Cranston Jeannine Nota-Masse told Tara Granahan: “Yes, you are correct that distance learning has taken its toll on all of us…kids, parents, teachers, and administrators. However, it was necessary and served a purpose. The issue you are referring to is being handled and is a personnel matter, so I cannot comment any further.  I do look forward to the day when we are all back to school, in person. Take care and have a nice weekend.”
