More than 50 in Providence schools told to quarantine

Providence Schools report that after three high school students tested positive for the coronavirus during last week’s first week of school, 45 students and 11 teachers are being told to quarantine for 14 days, according to a spokeswoman.

Two students who are related and who attended Providence Career and Technical Academy just one day last week tested positive for the virus. That prompted the state Department of Health to recommend that 38 students and nine teachers should be quarantined.

One students at the Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex tested positive, resulting in recommendations for quarantine for seven students and two teachers there.
