Police: Sex offender used restaurant Wi-Fi to get child porn

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The top federal prosecutor in Rhode Island says a man who used the Wi-Fi network at a restaurant to access child pornography was arrested Tuesday.

Vincent Siravo was charged with possessing and distributing child pornography.

A state task force first detected a device accessing child pornography on a restaurant’s internet in 2017.

In October, they again detected someone accessing child pornography and responded to find 40-year-old Siravo. Siravo was convicted in 2008 of possessing child pornography and is a registered sex offender who is supposed to limit his use of the internet.

An email to Siravo’s attorney was not returned.
