The Providence Flea returns this weekend. Shut down last March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the popular riverside flea market is reopening this Sunday.

“It’s been more than several months and we’re super excited to have a belated opening day this weekend,” said Maria Tocco, the flea market’s owner and market manager.

A number of steps have been taken to follow state guidelines and improve safety for attendees.

Those include, one-way aisles, plenty of hand sanitizer and a reduced number of vendors and food trucks along South Water Street.

The hours will be curtailed from 10 to 2 on Sunday.

Tocco said plans call for opening each weekend through the end of August, when the organizers will evaluate plans for the fall.
