PROVIDENCE R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island has nearly 600 positive cases and 10 total deaths from the coronavirus.

Gov. Gina Raimondo on Wednesday announced the state is launching a $2 million, short-term loan program for small businesses as well as a website to connect residents with food delivery services while in isolation at home.

And she says the state is expecting an infusion of millions of medical masks and hundreds of thousands of gloves and gowns for frontline responders.

Two Rhode Island mayors, meanwhile, are asking that a hospital that closed in 2017 be reopened to help in the pandemic.
