Gas down 2 cents per gallon in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has dropped 2 cents in the past week, and is likely to drop lower.

AAA Northeast said Monday that self-serve, regular is now selling for an average of $2.41 per gallon, which is 3 cents higher than the national average.

A year ago, the average per-gallon price in Rhode Island was a penny lower.

A spokesman says the price drop in crude oil prices is in response to a lack of agreement between OPEC countries and non-OPEC countries on cutting production and concerns about the coronavirus.
