PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The Rhode Island Supreme Court has upheld a lower court’s ruling and denied Gov. Gina Raimondo’s bid to unseal documents related to the grand jury investigation into the collapse of former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling’s video game company.

The court said the Democratic governor didn’t have the standing to request that grand jury proceedings be made public just because of intense interest in the case.

The state attorney general argued against releasing the documents, saying public interest didn’t justify undermining grand jury secrecy rules.

Rhode Island invested $75 million in 2010 to lure 38 Studios from Massachusetts. Two years later, the company went bankrupt.
