The Newport Jazz Festival today announced it’s “first wave” of artists who will appear at the 66th edition of the legendary festival, August 7-9, 2020 at Fort Adams State Park and the Newport Casino.

Well known artists including pianists Norah Jones and Diana Krall, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis are among the headliners.

Pianist Robert Glasper will appear all three days as “artist-in-residence” at the festival, and saxophonist Charles Lloyd, who appeared all three days at the 2019 will return this summer.

“For three days in August, all eyes and ears in the jazz world focus on what happens at Newport,” said Festival Artistic Director Christian McBride in a statement.

Other headlining artists include reggae legend Jimmy Cliff and Angélique Kidjo performing the Talking Heads’ Remain In Light.

The Newport Festivals Foundation, which also produces the Newport Folk Festival promises to release more artists soon.
