Convention Center Authority being audited, 2 on leave

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Two executives with the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority have been placed on administrative leave during a performance audit by the state auditor ordered by lawmakers.

WPRI-TV reports that former Rhode Island State Police Capt. James Demers, director of security, and Assistant General Manager Amanda Marzullo Wilmouth are on leave. The station left messages with both.

The authority is a quasi-public agency that operates the Rhode Island Convention Center, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center arena, and Veterans Memorial Auditorium.

The audit was ordered by the General Assembly’s Joint Committee on Legislative Services.
